Product description
Wrought Iron Paint
Fast-drying synthetic resin paint based on polyvinyl copolymer, specially developed for wrought ironwork.
- Excellent adhesion to many metal substrates
- Weather-resistant finishes on zinc, aluminium and copper sheets without primer
- Excellent adhesion to iron and steel
- Preserves surface texture, including details such as hammer marks and engravings
- Ideal solution for intricate wrought ironwork
Colours
Available in colours such as matt black, black with silver effect, anodised brown, metallic grey, white, dark green RAL 6005, light grey RAL 7030, brown RAL 8023, as well as various iron mica shades such as DB 703.

Surface finish: Satin matt.

Adhesion and corrosion protection
For optimum corrosion protection, the substrate must be clean, free of grease and rust. For high-demand applications on iron and steel, we recommend our P 300 primer.
Application instructions
1 litre covers approx. 7–9 m². For thinning, we recommend Schmiedelack Thinner 2772.

Application: can be applied by brush, roller or spray; electrostatic application optional. For weather-resistant finishes, we recommend at least two coats. Apply further coats after 12 hours at the earliest.
Recommended application temperature: 15–22 °C.

Drying time
- Dust-dry: after approx. 10 minutes
- Tack-free: after approx. 25 minutes
- Dry: after approx. 60 minutes
Please note
Schmiedelack should be stored in a cool, dry place. Original containers have a shelf life of at least 2 years.

Thinner 2772 is recommended on the tin.Nitro Universal Thinner can be used as a suitable alternative. This ensures smooth application of the paint and is readily available in shops.
