Frames – the sturdy framework for high-quality gratings

Frames surround grating and can be used, amongst other things, to anchor them into masonry. Grating with frames can be used, for example, as dirt traps or as covers for light wells. If necessary, the frame and grating can be separated, for example to clean the grating. Here at FeNau, you can find square and rectangular frames in various lengths and widths, as well as for different grating heights. Frames in various lengths and widths

Frames are sometimes also referred to as angle frames. At FeNau, you can purchase frames with widths ranging from 200 to 600 millimetres and lengths of up to 1,250 millimetres. We also stock frames for grating with a height of up to 40 millimetres. The frames are generally made from S235JR steel. This steel was previously designated St37-2. It is characterised by its good weldability and formability. It also possesses very good strength. This makes it a popular material.

Hot-dip galvanised for corrosion protection

The frames in the FeNau online shop’s range are usually made of hot-dip galvanised steel. Continuous hot-dip galvanising – like batch galvanising – is a hot-dip galvanising technique. Hot-dip galvanising creates an iron-zinc alloy and a zinc layer on the surface; both provide good protection against corrosion for the steel component.

In strip galvanising, a continuously moving steel sheet is galvanised, whereas in piece galvanising the entire steel component is hot-dip galvanised. Strip galvanising offers economic advantages on the one hand, as it saves a work step. On the other hand, zinc is used very efficiently in this process. This results not least in cost advantages, which suppliers and FeNau pass on to customers. TÜV Süd has tested the design and monitored the production of all frames in the FeNau range.
