Crossbar brackets from the experts: precision for your stainless steel balustrade

When it comes to the safety and aesthetics of your railing, FeNau is your first point of contact. As one of Germany’s leading suppliers of railing components, we offer not only simple crossbar holders (traverse holders), but certified quality for professional metalwork. Our components are the link that makes your railing infill stable, safe and visually flawless.

Benefit from our extensive stock. Whether it’s V2A (AISI 304) stainless steel for indoor use or V4A (AISI 316) for coastal regions – at FeNau, your project is ready to go straight away.

🎬 FeNau TV: Installation made easy

Many suppliers just sell. We don’t leave you to fend for yourself during installation. Our crossbar holders consist of a sophisticated system (holder, countersunk screw, grub screws).

Unsure about assembly? Take a look at our detailed 3D assembly instructions on YouTube. We show you step by step how the components (item no. 11.1021.4 and identical models) fit together perfectly.

Which crossbar bracket is right for my project?

To help you stay at the top of your own construction project’s list, we’ve divided our range into logical application areas. Use this overview as a buying guide:

1. For straight sections (per metre)

  • Standard with through-hole: The classic. The infill bars (usually Ø 10 mm, 12 mm or 14 mm) are fed through the bracket. Ideal for long, straight corridors or balconies.
  • Long version: Choose this variant if you need to increase the distance between the posts and the infill rod, for example to avoid structural obstacles.
  • End-to-end crossbar holders: A special tip from FeNau. When a bar ends, you shouldn’t have to ‘tinker’. Our end-to-end holders connect two bars invisibly inside the cylinder. The result: a seamless look without weld seams.

2. For stairs and inclines (flexibility)

A rigid system fails on stairs. Our articulated crossbar brackets solve this problem. They can be infinitely adjusted to the angle of your handrail.
Tip for renovators: Use our two-part brackets for retrofitting . This allows you to retrofit infill bars without having to dismantle the posts.

3. Corners, edges & finishes

A professional railing does not end abruptly.

  • 90° corner solutions (internal/external): For the seamless continuation of the railing around house corners.
  • End brackets (left/right): Also known as ‘blind-hole brackets’. Here, the baluster ends securely and without risk of injury (no sharp edges).

Frequently asked questions about crossbar holders (FAQ)

How many crossbar holders do I need per post?
This depends on the desired number of infill bars. For private railings, 4 to 6 horizontal bars (‘railing’) are standard to make it difficult to climb through (note the ladder effect!). You therefore need 4 to 6 holders per post.

Can I also mount FeNau crossbar holders on square tubes?
Yes. When selecting, pay attention to the “connection”. We offer models with a straight connection (for flat steel/square tubes) and models with a radius (for round tubes Ø 42.4 mm).

How are the crossbars secured in the bracket?
They are usually secured using a grub screw (threaded pin) in the bracket body, which clamps the bar in place. This can be seen in detail in our product video.
