Fenau glass point fixings: engineering excellence for your safety

Safety tolerates no compromises. Anyone installing glass as a load-bearing element or as fall protection requires fixing technology that meets the highest building regulations. Fenau is your specialist partner for industrial-grade glass point fixings .

Our mission is clear: we offer you the most comprehensive range on the market. From the delicate 16 mm design solution for interior fit-outs to the building authority-approved 72 mm heavy-duty anchor for large-scale public projects. Architects, metalworkers and quality-conscious builders rely on Fenau when it comes to the perfect blend of stainless steel design and structurally compliant engineering.

🛡️ Building regulations compliance: DIN 18008 & AbP

In glazing construction, the wheat is separated from the chaff when it comes to approval. Fenau does not just supply hardware; we provide planning certainty:

  • ✔ Compliance with DIN 18008 Part 3 (formerly TRAV): Strict
regulations apply in Germany to point-fixed glazing (e.g. parapets, French balconies). Our fixings are structurally calculated to ensure the required residual load-bearing capacities and to prevent stress peaks in the glass when installed correctly.
  • ✔ The AbP (General Building Inspection Test Certificate):
Save yourself the cost of expensive individual approvals (ZiE). Many of our point glass fixings from Ø 50 mm upwards have an AbP . This certificate officially confirms the suitability of the building product. Look out for the marking in our product details – this is your ticket to a smooth building inspection.

Scalable solutions: From 16 mm to 72 mm

We don’t do one-size-fits-all. We cover every load scenario. Our extensive stock range gives you maximum flexibility in planning:

Design & Interiors (Ø 16 – 30 mm)

Ideal for applications with low static loads where aesthetics are paramount. Perfect for sign holders , kitchen splashbacks, mirror fixings or furniture construction.
Available in: V2A, V4A and die-cast zinc.

Architecture & Railings (Ø 40 – 50 mm)

The industry standard for stair railings and balconies. These flange sizes offer the optimal balance between visible surface area and the clamping force required for laminated safety glass.
Often available with AbP.

Structural & Heavy-duty (Ø 52 – 72 mm)

Our "powerhouses". Where high wind loads (e.g. canopies) or fall protection in public buildings (crowded areas) are required, these solid anchors distribute the force over a large area.

Design: In addition to the classic round brackets, we also stock square (e.g. 40x40 mm, 63x63 mm ) and rectangular models for modern, cubic architecture.

Materials science: The right alloy for your project

Durability is no accident, but the result of the right choice of material. As experts in stainless steel, we make a strict distinction:

Material Code Application & Properties
Stainless steel V2A AISI 304 The standard for indoor and outdoor use with normal atmospheric exposure. Rust-free and robust.
Stainless steel V4A AISI 316 The professional choice. Essential in coastal areas (salt air), swimming pools (chlorine) and industrial areas. Increased corrosion resistance due to molybdenum content.
Die-cast zinc Zinc Economical solution for dry indoor use only. Available in a stainless steel finish (matt) or nickel-plated if weather resistance is not required.

Connection & configuration: Suitable for any substructure

A glass point holder is the link between the building structure and the glass. To prevent stress cracks, the connection (“connection surface”) must be selected precisely. In our shop, you can configure the connection directly on the product:

  • Flat connection: The flat contact surface. Suitable for mounting on concrete walls, steel beams, masonry or square tubes (e.g. 40x40 mm posts).
  • Pipe connection (radius): The rear of the bracket is concave (curved). It fits snugly around round balusters.
Please note: Check your baluster diameter! We stock connections for Ø 42.4 mm and Ø 48.3 mm.

The expert tip for maintenance

Point fixings are ‘soft mountings’. The rubber inserts (EPDM/plastic) between the glass and metal prevent direct contact and absorb stress. These rubber inserts are wear parts. Order suitable replacement rubber inserts straight away from our ‘Accessories and Spare Parts’ category, or use our adjustable point fixings to elegantly compensate for wall tolerances.
