Size ensures safety. The Ø 70 mm glass point bracket is our most robust model and has been specially developed for construction projects subject to strict structural requirements. Where delicate brackets reach their physical limits, the 70 mm plate provides the crucial extra strength.
This holder is the preferred choice for public buildings, stadiums or large glass façades where high live loads or wind pressures need to be transferred. It is supplied as a complete, solid component – for maximum stability without compromise.
📐 Why Ø 70 mm? The relevance of DIN 18008
In DIN 18008 Part 3 (Point-fixed glazing), stress distribution within the glass is the central theme.
The physical principle: the smaller the bracket, the more concentrated the force (stress peak) becomes, which can lead to glass breakage under high loads. The Ø 70 mm plate distributes the contact pressure over the largest possible area. This massively reduces local stresses around the drill hole and significantly simplifies the mathematical verification of stability (pendulum impact test). For many structural engineers, 70 mm is therefore the ‘gold standard’ for critical applications.
Technical features for heavy-duty use
This is not a makeshift solution, but a high-performance product:
- Solid body: Manufactured from solid stainless steel (V2A or V4A) to safely absorb maximum shear forces.
- Large cover: Conceals even large tolerances in the glass bore and ensures a secure fit for heavy laminated safety glass (LSG) made from heat-strengthened glass (HSG).
- Flat mounting: Designed for installation on flat surfaces such as concrete walls, steel beams or masonry.

Unlike our smaller models, this bracket cannot be individually configured due to its design (no modular system). You receive a perfectly matched unit that must be installed exactly as specified to ensure the structural properties. This guarantees error-free installation on site.
