Post caps 9x9 cm (90x90 mm) – The standard for privacy fences
Why is protection so important for 9x9 cm posts?
9x9 cm (90x90 mm) posts often bear heavy loads, such as 180x180 cm privacy screens or pergola beams. If these load-bearing posts start to rot at the top of the end grain, the stability of the entire fence is compromised.
Our 9x9 post cap does not seal this critical area, but covers it like an umbrella. Water runs off, air gets in – the post stays dry and stable. A small investment that prevents the costly replacement of rotten posts.

➔ Which posts are these caps suitable for?
This category includes caps for posts with a nominal size of 9 x 9 cm. In practice, these posts are usually planed and measure exactly 90 x 90 mm. Our caps have an internal dimension of approx. 91 x 91 mm.
Why the 1 mm clearance? Wood is a natural material. It expands when damp and contracts when dry. This slight oversize ensures that the cap will still fit in autumn without causing tension or causing the wood to split.
➔ Which material suits my privacy fence?
We stock only durable metal variants to suit your garden style:
- Anthracite (RAL 7016): The current trend. Many modern privacy fences or WPC fences feature anthracite-coloured elements. Our powder-coated caps in RAL 7016 ensure a uniform, modern look.
- V2A stainless steel (brushed or polished): Timeless and elegant. Stainless steel has a very high-quality appearance and creates a great contrast to warm wood. It is also completely rust-free and maintenance-free.
- Galvanised steel: The practical professional solution. Hot-dip galvanised steel is extremely robust and offers the classic ‘metal look’. Ideal for functional fences or when you’re on a tight budget.
➔ Should I buy sets?
Yes, it’s almost always worth it. A standard privacy fence requires a post every 1.80 metres. With our sets of 10 for 90x90 mm posts, you can cover approx. 18 metres of fencing and benefit from a lower unit price compared to buying individually.
➔ Installation tip for 9x9 posts
Privacy fences in particular often have tall posts (1.80 m +). Ensure the cap is securely fastened in stormy weather. Use the two side drill holes and screw the cap tight. Avoid using silicone – the wood must be able to breathe beneath the cap to prevent mould growth.
