Here you will find 90° stainless steel pipe bends in standardised Type 3 (DIN 2605 / EN 10253 Type 3D). Our range includes welded fittings in V2A and V4A – available with a polished finish for visible installations or unpolished (matt) for industrial piping systems.

Standard geometry: What does “Type 3” mean?

Regardless of the surface finish selected, all elbows in this category comply exactly with the geometric specifications of Type 3. This is crucial for your planning:

  • Radius ≈ 1.5 x diameter: The standard radius for welded fittings (e.g. 42.4 mm pipe = approx. 63.5 mm radius).
  • Precision: Fixed centre distances guarantee a precise fit when welding into existing pipe systems.
  • Important note: These elbows have a tighter radius than many purely ‘design’ elbows. If you are looking for special, widely curved handrail elbows, please check our special categories. Here you will find the classic standard products.

Choose the right finish

Depending on the intended use, we offer our welded fittings in two finish variants:

Unfinished (Matt / Bare)

The industry standard. The surface is untreated, matt and thermally annealed.

  • Ideal for process piping, industrial plants and water technology.
  • Perfect for welding, as no visible surface needs to be protected.
  • Cost-effective for purely technical applications.

Polished (240 / 320 grit)

For visible areas. The bends are finely sanded and offer an elegant finish.

  • Ideal for railing construction (where Type 3 dimensions are required), architecture and furniture making.
  • Clean finish, matching our sanded stainless steel tubes.
  • After welding, only the seam needs to be sanded down.

Material selection: V2A or V4A?

To ensure your welded joint remains permanently corrosion-free, choosing the right alloy is crucial:

  • V2A (1.4301 / 1.4307): The standard for indoor and standard outdoor applications. Frequently used in railing construction and the sanitary sector.
  • V4A (1.4404 / 1.4571): For high corrosion resistance. Absolutely essential in coastal areas (salt water), in swimming pools (chlorine) or in the chemical industry.

All bends are fitted with welded ends and are ready for further processing using TIG welding.
