For modern design and clean lines: our 90° stainless steel corner pieces as welded fittings. Unlike traditional pipe bends, these components offer a sharp 90° turn without a large radius. Ideal for building rectangular frames, modern railings and structures in V2A and V4A.

Corner piece vs. pipe bend: What is the difference?

Whilst a pipe elbow (type 3) gently bends the pipe in a curve, the corner piece creates a ‘sharp edge’. This affects both appearance and function:

The corner piece (here)

Appearance: Angular, cubic, modern. Looks as if “mitred”.
Application: Designer railings, furniture construction, door frames.
Flow: Unsuitable for liquids (high resistance), perfect for structural applications.

For comparison: Pipe bend

Appearance: Classically curved (radius).
Application: Standard railings, pipework.
Flow: Optimal for water/gas.

Workmanship & Quality

Our 90° elbow fittings are solid or hollow welded fittings that ensure a quick and stable connection:

Welding ends: The ends are precisely matched to the pipe diameter and feature a chamfer (V-groove preparation) for a deep root weld.
Materials:
- V2A (1.4301): For indoor use and standard outdoor use.
- V4A (1.4404): For coastal areas, swimming pools or high chemical exposure.
Surface: Available in unpolished (for frame construction/industrial use) or polished (K240/K320) for visible designer railings.

Tip for fabricators:
The corner piece saves you the hassle of making a mitre cut on the tube. Simply cut the tube to length straight across and weld the corner piece in between. This guarantees a perfect 90° angle without any sawing tolerances.
