Here you will find 180° stainless steel pipe bends in standard Type 3 (DIN 2605 / EN 10253). These so-called double bends or deflection bends are ideal for space-saving pipe deflection in piping systems or as an elegant handrail end cap in railing construction. Available in V2A and V4A.

Geometry check: The ‘centre-to-centre distance’ for Type 3

For a 180° bend, in addition to the radius, the centre-to-centre distance (axis distance) between the two pipe ends is particularly crucial. As this is Type 3 (radius ≈ 1.5 x diameter), the result is a very compact design:

Rule of thumb for your planning:
The distance from pipe centre to pipe centre is exactly twice the radius.
Example (42.4 mm pipe): Radius approx. 63.5 mm → Centre-to-centre distance approx. 127 mm.
This is the standard for compact bends and classic “riding boot” end pieces on railings.

Applications & finishes

Choose the finish to suit your project:

Sanded (240 / 320 grit)

For handrails & design.

  • Handrail end cap: Popular for connecting two parallel handrails (“U-bend”).
  • Appearance: Finely sanded, matching our K240/K320 tubes.
  • Finish: Seamless welding for a clean, seamless look.

Unpolished (matt)

For engineering & heating.

  • Piping: As a space-saving deflection in heating coils or cooling systems.
  • Economical: Cost-effective solution when appearance is of secondary importance.
  • Industry standard: Matt, heat-treated and optimally weldable.

Which alloy do you need?

  • V2A (1.4301 / 1.4307): The standard choice for indoor applications and normal outdoor areas. Suitable for most railings and heating installations.
  • V4A (1.4404 / 1.4571): For corrosive environments. Choose V4A for swimming pools, coastal regions or chemical process piping.

All 180° bends are designed as welded fittings (no push-fit system) and feature V-groove preparations at the ends.
