Straight support pins (round) made of stainless steel: The universal adapter for handrails

The straight support pin is the most commonly used connecting pin in handrail construction. It serves as a load-bearing spacer between the handrail post (or roundel) and the handrail bracket. In this category, you will find our standard round pins in solid stainless steel. They are perfect for horizontal railings on balconies, galleries or landings where no inclination angles need to be compensated for.

Threaded or welded? The right connection type for your project

To ensure the pin fits your substructure exactly, we offer various fixing options. Please note the thread sizes (usually M6 or M8):

1. Support pins for welding (hybrid & full welding)

For a seamless look and maximum stability. Our combination pins are particularly popular: these have a thread at the bottom (e.g. M8) for screwing into the post, but taper smoothly at the top so that the bracket can be firmly welded on. Variants for welding on both sides are also available.

2. Threaded support pins (screw-in)

The flexible solution for quick installation. Here you have a full range of combinations for your components:

With external & internal threads: The classic adapter (e.g. M8 external thread at the bottom, M6 internal thread at the top).
With 2x internal threads: For concealed fastening using threaded pins or grub screws.
With external thread: For direct screwing into prepared posts.

Choosing the right diameter and material grade

Our straight connecting pins are available in the standard diameters Ø 10 mm, Ø 12 mm and Ø 14 mm. Please check the diameter of your handrail brackets and post connectors before purchasing to ensure a flush fit.

V2A or V4A?
For indoor applications, AISI 304 (V2A) stainless steel is the standard. If you are planning an outdoor railing, we recommend our pins made from AISI 316 (V4A) , as these are more resistant to weathering and corrosion.

Expert tip for installation: For all bolted support pins, we recommend using medium-strength liquid threadlocker . This prevents the handrail from loosening over time due to vibrations or use.
