Connector for welded fittings

The professional way to extend pipes: our stainless steel pipe connectors for welding. This solid fitting is inserted into the ends of the pipes (flush-mounted) and serves as the perfect centring device for a stable and straight welded joint in stainless steel pipes (e.g. 42.4 mm) in V2A and V4A grades.

How it works: Recessed rather than butt-jointed

Unlike conventional methods, where pipes have to be held in place loosely ‘butt-to-butt’, this connector provides internal guidance.

How it works (illustrated):

  • The tenon: The turned ends fit exactly into the respective pipe (interference fit).
  • The stop (flange): There is often a small flange or thickened section in the middle. This automatically ensures the correct welding gap between the pipes.
  • The result: The pipes are automatically centred and aligned straight. You simply weld the gap over the solid core.

The advantages of this construction method

  • Enormous stability: As the solid connector remains inside, the joint is often more stable than the pipe itself. It is almost impossible for the weld to break through.
  • No burn-through: The solid steel core prevents you from accidentally ‘burning through’ the thin-walled tube during welding. It acts as a weld pool protection.
  • Invisible finish: Once the joint has been welded and ground down, the connector is no longer visible from the outside. Your handrail looks as though it is made from a single piece.

Technical details

Suitable for pipes
Designed for standard wall thicknesses (e.g. 42.4 x 2.0 mm). The connector has the appropriate diameter to fit snugly into the pipe.
Material
Available in V2A (AISI 304) and V4A (AISI 316) – choose the material to match your pipes to avoid contact corrosion.

Installation tip: Tap the connector into place → Push the pipes together until they stop → Weld the V-seam → Grind down.
