Cross-bar brackets for special posts: The perfect solution for flat steel & those with a unique style
Not every post is round or square. In modern railing construction – particularly in the field of architect-designed homes – flat steel posts or structures made from double flat bars are increasingly being used.
Conventional brackets reach their limits here. At FeNau, we therefore offer specialised crossbar brackets for special posts. These are designed to fit seamlessly against flat profiles and emphasise the delicate appearance of flat steel railings, rather than detracting from it.
Speciality: Posts made from two flat bars
One of the most popular modern construction methods involves posts consisting of two parallel flat bars. Here, space is often limited and the mounting surface narrow.
- Perfect fit: Our brackets for special posts feature a straight connection (flat connection). They lie flat against the flat steel without wobbling.
- Compact design: These brackets are often mounted between the two flat bars or on the side of them. Our models are compact enough not to look bulky, yet offer sufficient material thickness for a secure screw connection.
- Design harmony: The contrast between the flat, angular post and the round infill bar (crossbar), held in place by our precision stainless steel bracket, creates an exciting, technical look.
Also suitable for timber & masonry
The advantage of our “special brackets” with a flat connection is their versatility. They are not only suitable for steel posts.
- Wall mounting: Use these brackets to position crossbars directly in front of a façade or wall (e.g. as a climbing support or decorative trellis).
- Wooden posts: Thanks to their flat contact surface, these stainless steel crossbar brackets can also be screwed onto wooden beams with ease – ideal for the modern wood/stainless steel material mix.
🛠️ FeNau installation tip:
When installing on double flat steel posts, the screw length is crucial. As flat steel is often thinner than a tube, ensure that the fixing screw does not protrude from the back (risk of injury) or use cap nuts for a neat finish on the opposite side.
