Forged Iron Paint
Very fast-drying synthetic resin paint based on polyvinyl copolymer (liquid plastic).
- Excellent adhesion to many metal substrates
- Weather-resistant coatings on zinc, aluminium and copper sheets without primer
- Excellent adhesion to iron and steel
- Special surface texture preserves fine details such as hammer marks and engravings
- Ideal coating material for wrought ironwork
Colours
Available colours: Matt black, black with silver effect, anodised brown, metallic grey, white, dark green RAL 6005, light grey RAL 7030, brown RAL 8023, as well as various iron mica colours such as DB 703.

Satin finish.

Adhesion and corrosion protection
Adhesion and corrosion protection depend on a clean, grease-free and rust-free substrate. For high corrosion protection on iron and steel, we recommend our P 300 primer.
Application instructions
1 litre covers approx. 7–9 m². For thinning, we recommend our Schmiedelack Thinner 2772.

Application: can be applied by brush, roller or spray; electrostatic application possible. For weather-resistant finishes, we recommend at least two coats. Subsequent coats should be applied no sooner than 12 hours after the previous one.
Recommended application temperature: 15–22 °C.

Coverage: 7–9 m² per litre.
Drying time
- Dust-dry: after approx. 10 minutes
- Tack-free: after approx. 25 minutes
- Dry: after approx. 60 minutes

Schmiedelack should be stored in a cool, dry place. The product remains stable for at least 2 years in its original container.
